Stopping Addiction With Rapid Detox

The more common name is Rapid Opiate Detoxification (ROD); this term is common in the medical profession for its ability to be a quick fix for any type of illegal drug addiction. It is give to those patients that have a problem with using drugs like heroine and others also. It takes the drug craving out of the system by flushing the body of the nasty things it holds.

The use of this type of quick detoxification is only done under the supervision of the professional doctors. It is a very extreme and hazardous form of detox. The rapid detox program is done with the help of anesthesia. The detox runs for a few hours and is only done by a chosen few at this point in time. It needs to be given along with the drug Naltrexone and before counseling starts.

What Is Involved With The Rapid Detox Program?

Once the patient has received their anesthesia, the patient is given drugs that will get rid of the narcotic drugs in their system that can become clogged in the nervous system. The patient will go through the signs of withdraw that usually come after a few days of not having any drugs. The patient being under sedation does not have to have the feelings that go with the instant withdraw and can move past the addiction faster.

Immediately following the withdraw stage, the patient is given Naltrexone and Naloxone. Both of the drugs have been shown to be alright for this type of patient and will definitely take away the problems that are felt by the addict when using the detox for rapid cleaning. Once you have the other safe drugs in your body, you can get some relief and the rest of the withdrawal may only be a few hours to a few days time. Rapid detox is that fast. After the completed treatment, the patient will instantly feel better than they did before and with the withdrawals being less, they will have a better chance of getting through it.

Does this sound like it is all a fairy tale? It sounds that way but, it is true! The positive things about this form of detox are all about everything but how much it costs to have it done. There are many places that can provide you with the quick way to get rid of drug use. His is not very safe as other things tend to be warned against it. Some of the patient that has been given the rapid detox has died before they are finished. Heart attacks are also common for this form of detoxification.

With all the bad things that can happen while under this procedure, it is not a sure thing to state that the drug addicts are better off with this. It has become a well known thing in America and in some other parts of the world and it is still the better choice if things are thought through carefully. The drug addicts are just as important as the regular people in the world.
